Issue 6 / May 2026

Hi Runner,

By now, you've probably started to settle into the rhythm of training and fundraising — even if some weeks feel easier than others.

Staying consistent over time isn't always about motivation. Often, it's about finding support, connection and small ways to keep showing up.

The good news is, you don't have to do this alone.

On race day, you'll be joined by hundreds of runners coming together to support Bravehearts — and the road to race day can be supported by the people around you too.

This week, we're sharing a few ideas to help you stay connected, build support around you and keep moving forward.

If you've missed any previous editions of Run Ready, you can catch up here.

Bigger Support Starts With One Conversation

As your fundraising continues, you may find opportunities for support in places you hadn’t considered yet.

Workplaces, local businesses and community groups are often happy to support a good cause, especially when someone they know is involved.

You don’t need a formal sponsorship proposal to get started. Often, a simple conversation is enough.

Step 1

Make a List

Think about organisations you already have a connection to:

  • Your workplace

  • Local cafes or businesses

  • Sporting clubs or gyms

  • Schools or community groups

  • Businesses owned by friends or family

Step 2

Decide what you'll ask for

Support can come in many forms:

  • A donation

  • Donation matching
  • A raffle prize
  • Sponsoring an event
  • Sharing your fundraising page internally
Step 3

Share your "why"

People connect with people.

Tell them why you're taking part in the Bravehearts 777 event and why supporting Bravehearts matters to you.

Step 4

Keep it simple

You don't need the perfect pitch.

Here's a message you can copy, paste and personalise.

" Hi [Name],

I'm taking part in the Bravehearts 777 event and fundraising to help protect children through prevention, education and support services.

I'm reaching out to see if you would be interested in supporting my fundraising efforts through a donation, raffle prize or sponsorship.

I'd also love to acknowledge your support on my fundraising page and social media throughout my lead-up to the event.

Any support would mean so much, thank you for considering it.

"

Step 5

Say thank you

Whether someone donates, shares your page or simply encourages you along the way, gratitude goes a long way.

Every conversation may not lead to support, but many will.

And remember, you’re not doing this alone. Hundreds of runners across Australia are fundraising alongside you and helping create lasting change for Bravehearts.

Staying Connected Can Help You Stay Consistent

By now, you've probably noticed that motivation can come and go throughout training.

Some weeks feel easier than others — and that's completely normal.

One thing that can help during those tougher weeks is staying connected to the people around you.

If you're using Strava, you can link it directly to your fundraising page so supporters can follow along with your training progress.

Sharing parts of your training doesn't have to mean posting perfect runs or big milestones every day.

Sometimes it's the smaller moments people connect with most:

• A quick walk after work

• An early morning training session

• A long run that felt challenging

• Showing up even when motivation was low

These updates help people feel part of your progress — and they can also help keep you accountable and motivated along the way.

Remember, consistency isn't about being perfect. It's about continuing to show up, one session at a time.

Education Protects Children Before Harm Occurs

A core part of Bravehearts’ mission is prevention — and education plays a powerful role in helping keep children safe.

Through programs like Ditto’s Keep Safe Adventure, Bravehearts helps children learn age-appropriate personal safety skills, recognise unsafe situations and understand when to speak up.

“My 4-year-old daughter came home from kindy today and recited that her mouth, body, vagina and bum belong to her and that if anyone touches them she’ll say ‘NO’ and tell someone she trusts.”

~ Feedback from a parent whose child had seen Ditto’s Keep Safe Adventure Show

These programs are delivered in schools and early learning centres across Australia, helping children build confidence, understand their rights and know that they deserve to feel safe.

For many children and families, these lessons can have a life-changing impact.

Every dollar raised through the 777 Marathon helps Bravehearts continue delivering these education programs and expanding their reach into more communities across Australia.

Your fundraising is helping support prevention through education — helping protect children before harm occurs.

With Gratitude,

Bravehearts 777 Marathon Fundraising Team 💜
